Meghan Taff

PT, USAT certified coach
About Me

I am a physical therapist with a plethora of experience from inpatient and outpatient orthopedics to cash-basis and virtual care. I am ASTYM, CSCS, SFMA Level I, FMS Level I, MFD, CAFS, and RockTape Basic/Performance certified. During the pandemic I was able to pivot to Telehealth with great success. I have been able to parlay my experience and training into a unique blend of patient-focused care. Most recently I have developed a passion for innovation and moving the profession forward. I am looking for non-clinical opportunities. I am also a USAT certified coach, so I have been able to take patients from injury to finishing an Ironman.

What sports do you do? Do you have any accomplishments?

I have a passion for endurance sports including open water swimming, Masters swimming, triathlons, and marathons. I have participated in over 100 races in the past 15 years from 5Ks to Ironmans.

Share 3 fun facts about you!

1) I was born in a town named "Normal"

2) I've ridden 500 mi across South Africa

3) I've ridden the "Death Ride" in NorCal (125 mi, 15K ft of climbing)

What inspires you?

I'm competitive with myself, so I am always looking to improve.

What's your physical therapy philosophy?

Learn the basics well. It's the basics that make the biggest difference, so doing daily maintenance like foam rolling, or using the trigger point ball before my workouts.

What motivates you to do what you do at Netic?

I want to help people like me. I'm a (slightly) competitive recreational athlete who is looking to stay strong and fit as I age. I feel like the best is ahead of me, so I try to learn as much as I can from being an experienced athlete and PT. Then I love to pass those experiences onto my patients.

What was your best race?

My best race was the 2018 Santa Rosa IM. Not because of time (although it was a PR at the time), but because I was (unknowingly) super prepared for it. I had moved out to California the end of 2016 and had joined a great triathlon team, so all of the volume I had built up led to an awesome race!

What's your favorite exercise?

I love to swim. That is all :)

What's your worst injury and how did you get over it?

I herniated a disc in my low back last year after getting a puppy and training her (constantly bending down and the Left). It took my almost 9 months to run painfree again, but I worked on my exercises daily and re-added yoga back into my routine which helped!
